Grandfather wants to help.
Marian is a 5-year-old girl with a mental disability and has been placed at the daycare center. Because of motor disabilities she is in a wheelchair. Father and mother have as good as accepted Marian's handicaps. Grandpa, mother's father, has not done so for a long time.
He works like mad to teach his granddaughter to walk. He thinks, as long as you practice well, everything will be fine again.
The day care center has its own swimming pool and parents are regularly invited to join this activity. It promotes mutual contact and you have a few extra hands.
Grandpa sees his chance and offers to go along every week on the condition that he and his granddaughter can swim an extra half hour.
Although the parents have their reservations, they cannot say no to Grandpa. Marian doesn't always like Grandpa coming.
