Retired.
In July of 2018 I gave a farewell speech (for my retirement) to my colleagues and board of directors. The lines were partly taken from the internet and are straight from the heart.
Two friends are walking through the desert and start fighting. One hits the other in the face, who then rubs his face and starts writing in the sand: ‘Today my best friend hit me in my face’.
Together they walk on until they reach an oasis. The friends quench their thirst and take a bath. As soon as they get out of the water, one of the two notices he is stuck in quicksand. The other speeds to him and saves him from death. Afterwards, he writes on a rock: ‘Today my best friend saved my life’.
The other asked surprised: ‘Why do you first write on sand, but now on a rock?’
The friend replies: ‘When someone hurts you and you write in sand, the wind of forgiveness will come and wipe it out. When someone does you good, you should write it in stone so that the wind will never be able to erase it.’
